Hi I’m Soph.

Recently I graduated from NZHIF with a level 4 fitness leader certificate and an added career development of the pro series.

I became a personal trainer because I want to help other women and mums, like myself feel good within themselves. This doesn’t just mean, losing weight and feeling fit. It can mean more than that; gaining body confidence, making better choices for yourself and your family, understanding nutrition, finding a balance with exercise/family/work, creating motivation.

I understand how hard the juggle can be and finding the time to put yourself first. Fitness has always been something I have enjoyed in life, only recently though has it actually really changed how I feel about my own mental health. After having my second child I suffered with postnatal depression. The gap between my babies is only 16 months and boy oh boy was that tough (still is!) but once I started to find some time for myself and do what I needed to do, I started to feel a lot calmer, less stressed and felt better as a mother.

Exercise for me wasn’t about losing weight, rather my mental health. Moving my body, creating habits and following through with them really helped me get to the place I am now. I want to help other mums and women like myself regain confidence, to feel stronger, have more tone and have the energy to keep up with their kids and family life.

I want to help create better choices around nutrition, lifestyle factors, help with goal setting and working on the barriers that have stopped them in the past. I want to help with motivation and getting back to enjoying movement whether that be moving your body for 30mins a day or creating a resistance/HIIT training program.
